Keep These Facts Handy On How Babies Learn, To Help Them In The Process

By popular belief, it is taken for granted that babies come with a blank mind, however it is not true. According to a recent study, babies are born with an innate knowledge about their physical world, which they use to learn more when they are born. It is true that babies start learning in the womb itself as they are able to hear external sound and relate to it after they are born. This is why mothers are told to communicate a lot with their babies during pregnancy.

Previous studies have already shown that young babies are born of knowledge of what is solid and what is not. The new study adds to it and states that when babies see unexpected situations in the real world, they tend to learn from it.

Listing Out A Few Of The Simple Ways, By Which Babies Can Take Cues And Learn.

They Like Surprises:

It has been seen that babies learn more when they see something unusual or unexpected. They have a habit of gazing at things for quite sometime before they can understand the same.

Music Can Do Wonders:

Different studies have shown that babies respond well to music. Music is a language that they learn to learn very early. They are sensitive to musical tunes and hence, it also helps them with their communication.

They Love To Imitate:

Studies have shown that whenever a baby watches an adult to a particular movement or use a body part, they also try to do the same as their brains also light up in the same areas. They try to imitate and communicate in the same way.

They Learn By Moving Their Lips:

Recent studies have shown that infants need to use their tongue to differentiate between sounds. They need to move their lips to be able to understand and learn different sounds. Pacifiers prevent this activity, hence might become a hindrance in their learning ability.

They Love When You Laugh:

Laughter is a one of the best ways to communicate with a baby and hence, they also master this too. It has been seen that babies develop a sense of humour by 18 months. This helps them to learn new tasks, when associated with a smile or laugh. Studies have shown that when a baby  laughed at the demonstrator’s instructions, understood and performed the task better than others.

Sleeping Is Important For Their Learning:

This has been found that babies, who sleep properly tend to remember things much more than others. An experiment proved that babies, who slept after an activity were able to recollect the same after a while than others. This happens as they try to consolidate memories when they sleep.

They Learn Through Touch:

Touch is also an important way on how babies learn. They tend to understand and learn a thing better, when they are able to touch and feel the same.

They Learn From Animals:

Babies respond well to animal sounds, sometimes more than human speech. Studies have shown that they learn and respond to lemur sounds, which helped to stimulate their learning process.

Though, you will be amazed at how fast, babies tend to learn things, but you also need to understand that there are limitations too. Many educational companies might make you believe that literacy DVDs are effective in teaching infants about reading and writing, but anything under the age of 18 months is really not effective. Let your baby learn on their own pace and surprise you with every achieving milestone.
